Welcome to the Humane Society of York County Volunteer Program


Thank you for showing an interest in volunteering here at our facility. Tail are wagging and cats are meowing in excitement over your participation.

 

Volunteers play a vital role within our organization on day-by-day operations and enhancing the quality of life of our homeless pets.

 

Please print the Getting Started Document, as well as, fill out our Volunteer Application Form online and print and sign our Volunteer Waiver form for liability purposes and bring the waiver with you to our orientation (we are in the process of redefining our Volunteer program - please stay tuned). Please come to  the orientation ready to learn our processes and needs. We look forward to seeing you there.

To become a volunteer you must: 

 

  • Be 16 years old or older. 
  • Complete the Volunteer Application (available online noted above) and sign the Waiver of Liability;
  • Attend the Volunteer Orientation.

 

Volunteer Orientation are held at our facility the FIRST SATURDAY and THIRD FRIDAY of every month from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Please arrive 9:45 a.m. to make sure you have enough time to sign in and register. Orientations are held outside; bring a lawn chair if you like.

 

Attending Volunteer orientation is available only to individuals 16 years of age and older. Younger volunteers are welcome at a later date under parent/guardian supervision (parent/guardian will need to sign waivers for each child).


Dress code: Comfortable closed shoes (no flip flops allowed for your toe protection) required, long pants suggested.
