If you find that you must surrender your pet to the Humane Society of York County, please understand there are often more homeless animals than space available at the HSYC (your local no-kill animal shelter).
Also, the HSYC cannot accept dogs or cats with a history of aggression towards people and/or animals. Dogs and cats in declining health (kidney or liver failure, parvo, canine or feline distemper, feline leukemia or AIDS, etc.) may also be declined.
To streamline the process please send an EMAIL to our rescue and include the following information about your pet: Breed, gender, age, history of vaccinations, behavioral status and a picture. An HSYC representative will get back to you within a 72 hours.
