Sunday, May 22nd ~ What a busy and successful weekend the Humane Society of York County volunteers have had ~ packed full weekend of activities.
We started out with the Paws N Claws Tennis Social. Fun was had by all. Mary and Christie Jordan reported back that they made $382.00 in the effort of helping our animal shelter move. Great job ladies.
From there, we were represented at the Charlotte Pet Expo. There were what seemed like thousand of dogs of all type: Great Danes, Pugs, Goldens, even Wolf Hybrids. Many rescue, shelter were present. The Humane Society pups strutted their stuff: Sky, Skylar, Precious and Mickey all came out to meet and greet. The event was great 'Charlotte' exposure for our shelter.
Simultaneously, the 'wonder-woman team' was putting on the ritz at the Bowzee Wowzee Doggy Day Care where Karen Premo Photography took professional photos of nearly 35 dogs. It was a fun filled day of getting fido to sit and stay but I've been told the pictures are outstanding and we've brought in over $1300 to help our shelter move.....and we still going. The Top Dog online voting for donations contest will start tomorrow and run through Thursday at noon. Results will be announced on Thursday the 26th at 5pm. So get online and start voting for your favorite pup star!
