From the heart of one of our own…Lori from the shelter writes on behalf of Moo…
Hello! My name is Moo. I am now 1 year and almost 1 month old. And unfortunately, I have grown up at the Humane Society of York County. But I know I’m in a great shelter and the staff and volunteers love me and take care of most of my needs.
My story began 11-22-09 when I was born. I had 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Unfortunately our mother, a border collie, was hit and killed by a car. Instead of giving up, our owners with a newborn baby themselves tried to bottle feed us but things got overwhelming. That’s when new life began with HSYC’s foster mom. Things went well at first. Then like overnight it all went south. Through a week of struggle, my 3 sisters and 1 of my brothers passed away. Me and my brother Chester survived and continued to stay with our foster mom for a few months. Chester has a wonderful home now with one of HSYC’s volunteer dog walkers. As for me, I’m still waiting for that special someone to come in and fall in love with me. I need that special person to be able to devote a lot of time and training with me. My foster mom says there is a special person(s) or family out there for me too. I have a great personality and get along well with others. And my foster mom believes this is due to the way my life started. With everything being said, I am still waiting here at the HSYC for my special person or family to adopt me and give me a loving home and have lots of patience and persistence training me.
