To all my cat friends from Hero:
I just wanted everyone to know that this thing humans call outside is HUGE
and AMAZING!!! I hope that all my cat friends get adopted soon so they can
also experience the world.
I have to admit it is also scary!!! When my human picked me up we got in this
thing called a truck and it started moving, I just sat very quiet and still.
We arrived at a place the humans called home, MAN was it big. They took me
inside and introduced me to those things we hear barking in the shelter
called dogs. I wasn't scared (okay maybe a little). The brown one just licked
and licked me,but of course who could resist - I am very cute.
Then we went to a even bigger place they called the garage. WOW what a big
cage but my human had a smaller cage fixed up for me because she knew I would
be scared. I stayed there for the night, she would come out and talk to me
but I still was unsure. The next day I was able to explore that BIG cage but
it was so scary I just hid in a corner. Everyday my human would come out and
talk to me but I still wasn't very comfortable until she brought out this
thing called a hairbrush. Man did that feel goooood!!!!! She would help me
groom and boy you should see me now, I am one handsome cat. Every day she
would talk to me and brush me. I still acted shy but I sure was liking this
big cage. I even started coming out to greet my human when she came to see
me. The more I came out the better I was likng this place and those things
called dogs are kinda fun. Mommie (by the way she's Mom now) said that I
should get back in my cage and let's go outside and see that thing called the
outside. So here we went to the outside. Man I have never seen anything SO
BIG. There are things called trees and grass and flowers and bugs and.....I
could go on IT IS SO EXCITING !!!! So much to see and do I am glad I was in
my cage - I felt safe that way. The dogs were running free and I was watching,
when Mommie called - they came back. OH so that is what she wants me to do, got
it! We went back in and I tested it out (the coming when called thing). It
worked! Mommie is so happy and I'm glad, I want to make her happy after all I
kinda like it here.
Then Mommie bought this thing called a harness and leash. What the heck, let's
give it a try. I wasn't sure at first but when I could go outside and walk in
that stuff called grass man it felt good! Me, Mommie and the dogs all walking
together outside this is KITTY HEAVEN !!! We walked around the yard everyday,
that way Mommie said when I was able to go out on my own I would know where I
was. I thought that was a good idea because this thing called the outside is
a scary place and I liked having Mommie there. We smelled trees and flowers,
watched birds (whatever those are) Mommie said not to eat them - why would I?
Well the BIG day has arrived, Mommie said I could walk for a little while
without the leash but not to go far. I walked and walked, smelled things, and
looked around. I was still a little scared but Mommie and the dogs are there
watching out for me. I came back when Mommie called me and now she says I can
start going outside for a little while everyday.
If this is what you call FREEDOM it is really great!
I am lucky I got a good cat Mommie. My human family and I hope and pray that
everyone of my cat buddies find GREAT homes like I did. It is good to say
family. I never thought I would ever find a home but I did and MAN do I have a
great family!!!! Hero
